Your Florida Backyard NSiS Home Page Your Florida Backyard Great Backyard Bird Count
The Annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) takes place each year in February. More than 14,000 people counted birds at their feeders and nearby parks and nature areas during the GBBC the first year. In 2005, more than 51,000 people participated.

You can spend as little as 15 minutes (30 minutes or more is recommended) and participate on as many days as you'd like. Your findings can be entered at the GBBC website and at some nature parks, bird stores, libraries, and schools. Participation doesn't require Internet access or the use of a computer.

As data is entered at the GBBC website, you can check to see the results plotted on a map as they come in.

Have fun and help collect valuable data on bird distribution and population status.
