*Everglades Birdfest*
Everglades National Park
January, three day event

Participants meet in Fort Lauderdale and are transported by bus to the Everglades, birding along the way. There are guided walks and tours, speakers, and optional guided and unguided activities. Advance registration is required. The Everglades Birdfest site includes information about past and upcoming fests, detailed schedules and online registration. Sponsored by the Broward County Audubon Society.
 
 
*Big "O" Birding Festival*
Glades and Hendry Counties
January, three day event

The area includes Lake Okeechobee, Fisheating Creek, and sugar cane fields. Activities include workshops, guided and self-guided field trips, an arts and crafts show. Advance registration is required. The Big "O" Birding Festival site includes details, online registration, and information about past events.
 
 
*Southwest Florida Birding Festival*
Rookery Bay, Naples
January, two day event

Registration required for some activities. Details to be announced by the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.
 
 
*Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival*

*Pelican Island Wildlife Festival*
Sebastian
March, one day event

The birthday celebration for Pelican Island and the National Wildlife Refuge System includes boat and kayak tours, a photography contest, a kayak poker run and a 5k (land) run, and activities for kids.
